SSCL
SSCL (Strategic Sourcing Consultancy Ltd) is a New Zealand consultancy that has been giving practical, senior-level advice in logistics, supply chain, procurement and training since 2007. We took them from Strategic Sourcing Solutions to SSCL, built their website, and now work as a remote member of their team.
About SSCL
Strategic thinking. Practical implementation.
SSCL is an alternative to the big multinational consulting firms. Its senior consultants work across logistics, supply chain, procurement, training design and delivery, contract and commercial management, organisational design and change, and asset through-life management and engineering. Clients include private industry, government organisations and the defence sector, with offices in Auckland and Wellington.
My role is to be support for their team. I create graphics for presentations and documents, on-screen presentations and collateral, so SSCL keeps the respected standing it has earned in its field. Confidentiality is at the forefront of what SSCL does, and that is an understanding I hold with the company under contract. For that reason this page shows brand and marketing work only.
Tweak my brand
Say what everyone already says.
Clients and colleagues had always shortened Strategic Sourcing Solutions to SSCL, so the brand now says it. The red flag from the old logo stayed as the link between the two. A mini brand guide sets out the logo, clear space, colours, fonts and approved variations, including the Microsoft font standard, so the team uses the brand the same way every time.

Print and on screen
Consistent, wherever it lands.
A capability brochure, letterhead and the process diagrams that sit inside proposals and presentations, all built to the guidelines so any member of the team can pick them up.

Signage and flags
Recognisable across a room.
Branded signage for events around the country makes SSCL instantly recognisable, and carries the same imagery clients see when they visit the website.

Challenge coins
A small tradition with a long story.
Challenge coins are custom medallions that carry an organisation’s emblem and mark an achievement, an event or shared service. The popular origin story, which cannot be verified, goes back to the First World War: a wealthy American lieutenant had bronze coins made for the pilots in his unit, and a pilot who was captured and escaped proved he was an ally to a French outpost by showing his coin.
Today they are still a tradition in the armed forces and with police, firefighters and paramedics in Australia and New Zealand, and they have spread to companies, schools and community groups as a symbol of belonging. They suit SSCL’s defence and public sector clients well.
Background: Now and then, a brief history of custom challenge coins, Badges and Medals.

Name badges
Worn on the lapel.
Metal enamelled badges with the logo and a name, for meetings, expos and visits. Short, legible and consistent with everything else in the kit. Names shown are placeholders.
The website
sscl.co.nz
Built on RocketSpark so the SSCL team can look after it themselves. It carries the new brand, the capability overview and the contact details for the Auckland and Wellington offices.
Strategic thinking –
practical implementation
SSCL is a specialist consultancy that challenges the traditional, multinational consulting firm approach with our agility, results and value-orientated focus.

On mobile
Every page works on a phone.
The same brand, the same layout and the same calm reading experience, from the home page down.

After working with SSCL for many years, I have come to know and respect the people and the organisation. Their work is complex and issues can take time to work through, so a long-standing relationship and a good understanding of their offerings means I can step in quickly. I am on call to support the team with new graphics, document templates, diagrams and collateral as they are needed. That is the fly in, fly out part.
